What you will do
- Manage and improve permitting programs for electric transmission, natural gas pipeline, and renewable energy projects.
- Prepare permit applications, environmental documentation, EM&CPs, SWPPPs, SEQRA documentation, and field data reports.
- Develop permitting strategies and schedules, coordinate field work, and support technical staff.
- Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies, clients, stakeholders, contractors, and local or regional agencies.
- Review environmental and municipal regulations and identify compliance requirements.
- Manage project budgets and invoicing while preparing reports, procedures, correspondence, and other technical materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of post-degree environmental permitting experience in New York.
- Required experience managing transmission line projects under New York State Article VII and Part 102.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and permitting regulations applicable to agencies including the New York Public Service Commission, NYSDEC, EPA, USACE, and FERC.
- Excellent verbal and technical communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under aggressive schedules.
Nice to have
- Experience with New York State Article 10 and Section 94-c permitting.
- Experience with SEQRA permitting, the NYSDEC Freshwater Wetlands Program, the Federal Clean Water Act, and FERC certificates.
