TL;DR
Senior Test Engineer (Army Aviation): Implementing testing disciplines and executing developmental, operational, live fire, environmental, and electromagnetic testing for Army Aviation components, systems, and aircraft platforms with an accent on flight qualification, airworthiness, and acquisition life-cycle requirements. Focus on defining test requirements, validating hardware and software performance, preparing test plans and reports, and coordinating testing across engineering and program teams.
Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Travel of up to 15% is required.

What you will do
- Serve as the Test Analyst/Engineer for the Cargo Project Office and implement testing disciplines throughout the acquisition life cycle.
- Execute developmental and operational test and evaluation activities with development, modernization, production, and international teams.
- Define and refine testing requirements, validate hardware and software performance, and verify production-representative units against specifications.
- Use virtual models to estimate performance before physical prototypes are available.
- Lead and participate in Integrated Product Teams.
- Prepare test plans, reports, schedules, budgets, status updates, and Rough Order of Magnitude test estimates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 17 years of experience in directly relevant Army Aviation component, system, flight, developmental, operational, or live fire testing.
- Experience with Chinook, Black Hawk, Apache, or fixed-wing aircraft platforms, including flight qualification and the airworthiness process.
- Experience developing, writing, or updating Test and Evaluation Master Plans or Test and Evaluation Strategies.
- Familiarity with Army oversight testing, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects testing, and environmental testing under MIL-STD-810H.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Department of War security clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience across multiple Army Aviation platforms, test domains, or acquisition life-cycle phases.
- Prior Integrated Product Team leadership and experience working across diverse engineering and program teams.
- Experience with virtual modeling for test planning or performance prediction.
