TL;DR
Warehouse Automation Technician (Automated Distribution Systems): Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated warehouse equipment at a distribution and customer fulfillment center with an accent on ALPS and AGV systems, preventive maintenance, process control, and accurate records. Focus on resolving equipment faults, recovering automated guided vehicles, maintaining safe high-speed operations, and working across rotating 12-hour shifts.

Location: DLMC Dallas Mix Center in Wilmer, Texas, approximately 20 miles south of Dallas; on-site warehouse work.

Starting pay: $22.50 per hour, plus $2.00–$3.50 per hour shift differentials for 12-hour shifts.

What you will do

  • Operate and monitor automated distribution equipment and control processes using computers and electronic interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and operational losses in the Automated Layer Picking System, including conveyors, cranes, pallets, and product spills.
  • Recover Automated Guided Vehicles after errors, clean equipment, and determine when an AGV should be taken out of service.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, use basic hand tools, and maintain equipment at base condition.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and data while meeting performance, safety, and quality goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external multifunctional teams while working independently under pressure.

Requirements

  • Entry-level applicants are welcome; prior experience is preferred but not required, with on-the-job training provided.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and age 18 or older.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, own technical systems and processes, and learn new technology quickly.
  • Experience with manufacturing or material-handling equipment, warehouse or distribution operations, logistics, quality assurance, warehouse management systems, SAP, or JDA/Blue Yonder/Red Prairie is relevant.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds; work at heights, climb stairs and ladders, use hand tools, and work in hot, cold, dusty, enclosed, and uneven warehouse environments.
  • Must be willing to work any shift, including rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays, and wear required safety equipment.
