Software Architect (AI)

Location: Lehi, Utah, United States; hybrid with in-office work Monday–Wednesday

What you will do

• Set technical direction and make final decisions on cross-cutting architecture and system design.
• Lead architecture across backend and frontend systems for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Partner with the Staff Data Architect to design and roll out a new platform alongside the existing one.
• Own technology decisions covering scalability, security, observability, maintainability, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Align the technical roadmap with business strategy and guide engineers through architecture reviews, design documentation, mentoring, and hands-on pairing.
• Evaluate cloud, DevOps, and AI/LLM application technologies and shape their responsible integration into the product.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, including 7+ years in architecture, staff, or technical leadership roles.
• Experience designing and scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, distributed systems, system design tradeoffs, and non-functional requirements.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; Kubernetes or Docker; CI/CD pipelines; infrastructure as code; and DevOps or platform engineering.
• Experience with REST, GraphQL, and gRPC API design, plus security and compliance concepts including SOC 2, zero trust, and threat modeling.
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills, with experience documenting architecture decisions using ADRs and C4 models.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
• Experience with LLM integration, RAG patterns, agentic application design, or AI-first products.
• Experience with multi-country compliance, data residency, privacy regulations, and cross-border data handling.
• Background in high-growth SaaS environments or post-acquisition system integration.
