Lead Software Architect, Cloud & AI Modernization — Post-Acute

Location: Onsite in Overland Park, Kansas; candidates must live in or relocate to the Greater Kansas City metro area. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead architecture strategy and technical design for post-acute applications and platforms.
• Assess current-state architecture and guide modernization through modular design, APIs, service decomposition, and cloud migration.
• Partner with DevOps, Cloud, Hosting, Security, Product, UX, and engineering leaders to align architecture with delivery and operational needs.
• Provide technical leadership through design and code reviews, architecture documentation, proof-of-concepts, and reusable engineering patterns.
• Guide teams on AWS, distributed systems, CI/CD, observability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Identify opportunities to integrate AI, automation, analytics, and data-driven capabilities responsibly into healthcare products and workflows.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background as a Software Architect, Lead Engineer, Technical Lead, Senior Architect, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale application development, legacy modernization, and cloud-enabled architecture.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, cloud-native patterns, distributed systems, APIs, microservices or modular architecture, CI/CD, observability, and DevOps.
• Experience with enterprise technologies such as Java, .NET, C#, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar ecosystems.
• Ability to influence across a matrixed organization and connect architecture decisions with development and operational realities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience, plus interest in bringing AI, machine learning, automation, or data-driven capabilities into production.

Nice to have

• Healthcare technology, EHR, clinical workflow, human services, post-acute, care management, or regulated-industry experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, event-driven systems, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Exposure to AI/ML, LLMs, MLOps, responsible AI, or intelligent automation in enterprise software.
• Experience translating client or market needs into technical architecture with Product and Engineering.
