Registered Nurse, Shift Leader, Nephrology Unit (Nephrology)

Location: Knoxville, TN, USA; night shift

What you will do

• Provide supervisory leadership to staff on the assigned shift in coordination with the department Manager.
• Assign work, direct activities, coordinate staff relief, and project staffing needs for upcoming shifts.
• Serve as a clinical resource and provide professional nursing care on the nephrology unit.
• Participate in staff performance appraisals, hiring recommendations, disciplinary documentation, and recognition recommendations.
• Complete charge nurse duties, shift reports, emergency crash cart checks, scheduling activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain safety standards, complete annual education assignments, and demonstrate competency in critical and age-specific patient care.

Requirements

• At least 1–3 years of professional experience.
• Current Tennessee State nursing licensure is required and must be maintained.
• CPR certification is required.
• Education sufficient to meet the standards for the required nursing license and certification.
