2nd Shift CNC Operator (CNC)

Location: Hiawatha, Iowa, United States; full-time, on-site. Monday–Thursday, 2:00 pm–12:00 am. No travel required.

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC mills, surface finishing equipment, and vibratory tumblers according to job specifications, setup sheets, and blueprints.
• Load materials and tooling, adjust machine settings, and maintain alignment and calibration.
• Perform in-process inspections with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Monitor machining operations, adjust processes, and report deviations or equipment malfunctions.
• Complete job travelers, inspection reports, and time logs while performing routine machine and work-area cleaning.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to resolve machining issues and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Must be a US Person: a US citizen, permanent resident, or protected person.
• GED or high school diploma.
• At least 1 year of experience operating CNC machines, preferably in manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints, setup sheets, and technical drawings, including GD&T.
• Familiarity with G-code and CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens.
• Basic math skills, precision measurement experience, attention to detail, and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of experience operating CNC mills in a production environment.
• Experience with Apex surface finishing machines or vibratory tumblers.
• Machining or manufacturing technology certificate or apprenticeship.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Basic G-code programming and CNC editing experience.
