Focus on approving automation designs, commissioning systems, improving OEE and reliability, and coordinating suppliers and cross-functional teams.

What you will do

  • Define and enforce plant automation standards, controls architectures, design specifications, documentation requirements, and risk-mitigation protocols.
  • Review and approve automation concepts, software architectures, safety solutions, modifications, and production launches.
  • Lead automation capital projects, including business cases, ROI analysis, supplier selection, commissioning, budget control, and final acceptance.
  • Coordinate suppliers, system integrators, maintenance, operations, IT/OT, quality, and safety stakeholders.
  • Verify launch readiness against safety, quality, cycle-time, reliability, maintainability, documentation, training, and spare-parts requirements.
  • Monitor OEE, downtime, throughput, quality, reliability, and launch-stability metrics while leading root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, mechatronics, controls, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Seven or more years of progressive experience in manufacturing automation, controls engineering, systems integration, or advanced manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience leading automation capital projects valued at $500,000 or more, including technical scope, supplier management, commissioning, and acceptance.
  • Advanced knowledge of Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of FANUC robotics, FactoryTalk View, Keyence and Cognex vision systems, EtherNet/IP, industrial cybersecurity, and machinery risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, OEE improvement, structured problem-solving, risk assessment, and equipment-launch processes, with strong cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to have

  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent project-management or continuous-improvement certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry and machinery risk-assessment training.
  • Rockwell Automation and FANUC platform training, including FANUC HandlingTool Operations or equivalent.
