Project Engineer II-Automation (Automation)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; US citizenship required

Salary: $115,300–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Apply power system automation concepts, practices, and SEL product knowledge.
• Train and assist customers with creating, designing, configuring, validating, installing, commissioning, and operating automation and protection systems.
• Deliver assigned engineering work within scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Participate in preparing functional design specifications.
• Prepare and maintain design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and other deliverables.
• Travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time based on the focus area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant application experience with electric power systems and power system automation.
• Knowledge of power system protection and control, integration, automation, communications, and protective relay applications.
• Working knowledge of power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and relay applications.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills, with the ability to learn new skills and take on responsibilities.
• US citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Engineer in Training certificate.
• Electrical utility, industrial plant, consulting engineering, or system integrator experience.
• Project engineering experience.
• Experience with Vision or other project management tracking software.
