Electrical Engineer (PLC/Automation)

Location: Jackson, AL, United States; onsite work with availability for any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Starting salary: $86,400–$108,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and implement plans supporting safety, quality, productivity, and efficient utilization of automation maintenance personnel.
• Support operating departments with maintenance input on long-term automation equipment decisions and existing equipment maintenance.
• Establish, improve, implement, and monitor the automation preventive maintenance program to reduce unscheduled downtime.
• Provide input to daily and weekly planning, work schedules, manpower assignments, shutdown scheduling, and long-term equipment decisions.
• Arrange external contractors, supporting services, and equipment required to meet department goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of one year of job-related experience preferred, or an associate degree in a related field with three to five years of job experience.
• Knowledge of the operation, repair, and maintenance of automation equipment and drives.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and key maintenance indicators.
• Knowledge of the pulp and paper industry.
• Must be willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IBA, virtual servers, and networking.
