Commercial Underwriting Counsel

Location: Hybrid in Tampa, Florida, or remote elsewhere in the United States

Salary: $88,900–$118,500 annually

What you will do

• Provide underwriting support, legal counsel, and authorization for title insurance commitments and policies.
• Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits.
• Underwrite commercial title insurance issuance in accordance with company processes.
• Guide personnel and customers on escrow and real estate settlement services.
• Communicate underwriting and settlement information to internal teams.

Requirements

• Law degree and active license to practice law in good standing in the state of employment.
• Five to seven years of experience underwriting title insurance or comparable law firm experience; commercial experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of real estate law and federal and state regulations.
• Understanding of real estate title and settlement processes.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, business, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate, act decisively, build relationships, and manage multiple priorities.
