Sr. Counsel, Claim

Location: PA - Blue Bell, United States

Annual base salary: $132,800–$219,100, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently manage higher-exposure cases and complex litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
• Try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions using advanced litigation and trial techniques.
• Conduct legal research; draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive documents.
• Attend hearings, court events, depositions, and other required appointments, including travel as needed.
• Advise insured clients and Claim partners on case handling strategies and collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants.
• Build client and business relationships, provide legal training and updates, mentor attorneys and legal support staff, and support business initiatives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including insurance defense litigation.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the states where representation is required.
• Proven experience handling jury trials, hearings, dispositive motions, depositions, and other court proceedings.
• Strong oral and written advocacy, legal research, negotiation, case analysis, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel to court proceedings and other meetings; a valid driver's license may be required depending on location.
