What you will do

  • Design and develop automated cutting and marking systems and peripheral equipment.
  • Integrate system electronics, process controls, consumables, gas control, machine systems, and inverter power supplies.
  • Develop product specifications, system designs, cost estimates, concepts, and development schedule inputs.
  • Create test processes, analyze results, and evaluate mechanical product integrity and reliability.
  • Build and validate prototypes while collaborating with global engineering teams.
  • Support customers and field service engineers through applications, demonstrations, process analysis, optimization, and technical training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical design experience and experience developing industrial products.
  • Experience troubleshooting large, complex electro-mechanical machines.
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD modeling, electro-mechanical prototype building, microcontrollers, and PLCs.
  • Knowledge of statistical design of experiments, scientific experimentation, mechanical integrity testing, communication protocols, laser operation and safety, and heavy industrial equipment safety.
  • Strong technical problem-solving, analytical, communication, teamwork, and independent-work skills.
