Mechatronic Engineering (Automation)

Location: Cleveland, GA, United States; onsite. The role may require 15% travel within NAFTA and possible international travel for training and best practices.

What you will do

• Participate in APQP and lead the development of prototype and production processes and equipment for successful launches.
• Develop, commission, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing equipment, controls, automation, and vision systems.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, robots, servos, automated vision controls, and SCADA/MES systems.
• Support operations and quality teams, including 8D reports, PPAP, and customer validation activities.
• Develop lean manufacturing processes for new and existing business opportunities.
• Create and maintain process flows, PFMEAs, machine schematics, and other engineering documentation.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering; Mechatronics is preferred, along with Electrical, Industrial, Automation, Robotics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building, assembling, and commissioning custom equipment.
• Proficiency with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, plus experience integrating FANUC, Kawasaki, or ABB robots.
• Experience developing and implementing Keyence, FIPS, Zero D, or similar vision systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machine design, tolerancing, fits, load calculations, electrical schematics, and machine wiring.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, NX, or similar; effective communication, teamwork, and project ownership are required.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• GD&T experience.
• Automotive industry experience.
