TL;DR
Test Technician - 2nd Shift (Aerospace): Performing electrical and mechanical testing of non-energetic aerospace and defense products with an accent on test setup, instrumentation, calibration, and data reporting. Focus on executing tests to written procedures and MIL-STD requirements, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting customer requirements through accurate test data.

Location: Moorpark, California, United States; onsite, second shift

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year

What you will do

  • Set up, perform, and evaluate electrical tests, mechanical loading, and proofing.
  • Test non-energetic aerospace and defense product lines according to written procedures, MIL-STD requirements, and industry specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
  • Generate, report, and plot test data to support customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair testing equipment.
  • Work independently with colleagues across multiple organizational levels; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. and overtime may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; an associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to interpret and execute test requirements in written specifications.
  • Experience in an aerospace industry is preferred.
  • Experience in a test laboratory environment with pressure transducers, multimeters, milliohmmeters, hipot testers, pulse generators, voltage and current supplies, oscilloscopes or DAQs, temperature chambers, or Instron tensile testers.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate with individuals at multiple organizational levels.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Instron tensile tester programming with Bluehill Universal Software.
  • Watlow F4 and F4T programming.
  • Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
