TL;DR
Test Technician II (Aerospace): Performing destructive, environmental, functional, and electrical testing of pyrotechnic and electronic products in a laboratory environment with an accent on written test procedures, test equipment, and hands-on troubleshooting. Focus on setting up tests, checking and calibrating equipment, interpreting drawings, and supporting design verification and acceptance testing.

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States; onsite laboratory work

Salary: $21.44–$39.81 per hour, dependent on experience; eligible for a bonus.

What you will do

  • Perform destructive, functional, environmental, and electrical testing of pyrotechnic and electronic products.
  • Follow written Acceptance Test Procedures and Qualification Test Procedures.
  • Interpret dimensional drawings and prepare test setups in a laboratory environment.
  • Operate oscilloscopes, multimeters, environmental chambers, hand tools, and other testing equipment.
  • Conduct equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, calibration, adjustments, and component replacement.
  • Support process improvement, 5S, and occasional outdoor testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read drawings, follow procedures, and use basic computer tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
  • Must meet U.S. Government export-control requirements: candidates must be U.S. Persons or obtain the required government export authorizations.
  • Ability to work in a lab with PPE, stand for 8–9 hours per day, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, and perform hands-on work.
  • Availability for a four-day, 10-hour schedule from Monday through Thursday; Friday overtime is common, with typical weeks of 45–50 hours.

Nice to have

  • Experience with oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Associate degree or military experience.
  • Aerospace, defense, or energetics/explosives experience.
