Surgical Technologist (Operating Room)

Location: Lowell General Hospital, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA, United States. Full-time onsite role with 36- or 40-hour days/evenings schedules.

Pay range: $32.00–$32.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Support surgeons during a wide variety of operating room procedures.
• Prepare and organize instruments, supplies, equipment, and surgical rooms.
• Maintain aseptic technique during setup, patient draping, and procedures.
• Perform surgical counts and manage intraoperative medications and specimens according to policy.
• Assist with patient positioning, movement, transport, decontamination, and room turnover.
• Report equipment or supply issues and participate in quality improvement, education, orientation, and emergency preparedness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program, qualifying military surgical technology training, or qualifying prior surgical technologist employment.
• Less than 12 months of healthcare experience is accepted, including new graduates.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduates must obtain the required credential within 12 months of graduation.
• Ability to work in restricted operating room areas, stand for prolonged periods, lift and position patients and equipment, and work around blood, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, radiation, lasers, and anesthesia gases.
