Entry Level Microbiologist

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite and not remote. Candidates must currently live within a commutable distance. Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.; 25% travel may be required. No relocation assistance is provided.

What you will do

• Complete training with an experienced analyst or mentor and perform microbiological analyses of bio/pharmaceutical ingredients and products.
• Prepare and review reagents, samples, standards, and culture media according to procedures.
• Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation independently or with guidance.
• Document testing, observations, deviations, and results in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Review laboratory data, generate reports, and evaluate results for accuracy, clarity, and quality.
• Maintain laboratory operations, equipment, and a clean workspace while meeting quality and productivity standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or a related field.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of microscopy and biological safety cabinets, media preparation, pipetting, organism and culture preparation, serial dilution, and aseptic technique.
• Ability to read analytical procedures and internal SOPs and apply GMP and GLP requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, teamwork, and laboratory technique.
• Ability to work the Tuesday–Saturday second shift and occasional overtime as needed.
