Sales Consultant – La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries (Luxury Furniture)

Location: Lanham, Maryland, United States; onsite showroom role with evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.

Compensation: $16 per hour during 2–6 weeks of training; post-training base pay of $14.50 per hour plus uncapped commission and quarterly bonus. Average annual earning potential: $35,000–$55,000+.

What you will do

• Guide customers through premium furniture, accessories, services, and design-program purchases.
• Discover customer needs, create customized portfolio presentations, address objections, close sales, and maintain post-sale contact.
• Schedule and conduct professional home consultations with room designs, fabric samples, furniture, table, accessory, and installation recommendations.
• Support customer satisfaction through phone, email, Podium follow-up, issue resolution, and delivery scheduling.
• Maintain showroom displays, product tags, design-center materials, catalogs, cleanliness, customer records, orders, payments, and daily system logs.
• Assist with peer training and store operations, including opening and closing the showroom.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous selling experience and the ability to close sales are strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, organization, persuasion, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time and competing priorities, work collaboratively, and meet assigned sales goals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work the business-required schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Luxury sales or retail experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
