General Liability Senior Technical Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Diamond Bar, California, United States. Hybrid schedule with employees working up to two days per week at their primary residence.

Annual base salary: $94,400–$155,800. Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate, and resolve severe general liability bodily injury and property damage claims.
• Analyze coverage, liability, damages, recovery potential, and settlement options throughout the claim life cycle.
• Manage litigated claims, including litigation plans, counsel selection, discovery, legal expenses, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Direct internal and external experts, including claim counsel, investigators, nurse consultants, risk control, subrogation, and fraud resources.
• Maintain accurate claim files, quality documentation, reserves, diary management, and compliance with claim protocols and state regulations.
• Provide technical consulting, mentoring, coaching, and training to less experienced claim professionals and business partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 3 years of bodily injury litigation claim handling or comparable claim litigation experience is required; 4 years is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of coverage, liability, damages analysis, insurance contracts, investigation principles, and value determination.
• Thorough understanding of litigation processes, relevant case and statutory law, policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, and claims handling practices.
• Advanced negotiation and litigation management skills, with strong judgment, communication, customer service, coaching, and persuasion abilities.
• Insurance licenses may be required and generally must be obtained within three months of starting, with continuing education thereafter.
