Engineer II - Manufacturing

What you will do

• Provide engineering leadership and support to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost across manufacturing value streams.
• Analyze operational metrics and recommend improvements to machinery, tooling, production methods, and machine controls.
• Investigate safety and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions with cross-functional teams.
• Lead capital expenditure projects from quotation through IQ/OQ/PQ, support budgeting, and manage emergency capital projects.
• Develop documentation for automated processes, new equipment, and product commercialization, and lead automation initiatives.
• Improve preventive maintenance, reduce unplanned downtime, and lead continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap and costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 3–6 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge and practical application of intermediate Lean Manufacturing tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of SPC and the ability to analyze process data.
• Experience with process mapping, PFMEA, process design, DFM, Cpk/Ppk, and/or DMAIC.
• Knowledge of materials through education or professional experience, with the ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment and perform frequent standing, walking, problem-solving, and data interpretation.

Nice to have

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
• LSS Green Belt or Lean Practitioner training.
