Applied AI Engineer

Location: Redwood City headquarters, California, United States. Requires standard U.S. business hours with overlap with the Pacific Time team and enterprise customers.

Salary: $180,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy production AI voice applications.
• Integrate hirify.global APIs and SDKs with customer products and develop custom workflows, automations, and conversational AI experiences.
• Architect scalable AI systems and own technical implementations from proof of concept through production launch.
• Debug production issues involving APIs, webhooks, telephony, SIP, authentication, latency, and infrastructure.
• Investigate AI behavior and improve prompt quality, reliability, and performance.
• Lead enterprise technical onboarding, advise customer engineering teams, and turn recurring customer feedback into platform improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of software engineering or customer-facing technical experience building and deploying production applications.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Experience with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, debugging, and technical problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with technical customers.
• Availability for standard U.S. business hours with Pacific Time overlap.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI or LLM-powered applications, Voice AI, speech technologies, or conversational AI.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, telephony, SIP, Twilio, or real-time communications.
• Customer-facing engineering, solutions engineering, consulting, or startup experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for customer workshops, launches, and onsite engagements.
