Production Manager (Precision Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Manage production lines and value streams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement targets.
• Lead daily problem-solving, root-cause corrective action, and improvement of SQDC performance.
• Coordinate the transfer of new products and technologies into work cells, including acceptance criteria and transfer checklists.
• Apply Lean, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, MDI, and DMAIC methodologies across production activities.
• Plan capacity and resources, including employees, tooling, equipment, and facilities, to meet production demand.
• Partner with Supply Chain and other Production Managers on make-versus-buy decisions, operational coordination, and best-practice sharing.

Requirements

• Extensive experience managing precision manufacturing and CNC production operations in high-precision engineering environments.
• Hands-on experience with CNC milling, turning, multi-axis machining, conventional machining, complex high-tolerance components, and specialist materials.
• Expertise in tooling selection, fixture design, process development, feeds and speeds optimisation, machining strategies, and engineering drawings.
• Experience in operations and new product development, with knowledge of production planning, quality, purchasing, engineering, supply chain, finance, HR, and information systems.
• Proven people-management, team leadership, change-management, analytical problem-solving, project-management, time-management, and resource-planning skills.
• BS degree preferred, or equivalent experience; practical knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing required.
