Maintenance Assistant

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite facilities work

What you will do

• Maintain electrical infrastructure, change lights and ballasts, and replace defective switches and outlets in accordance with safety codes.
• Maintain plumbing infrastructure, repair valves and vacuum breakers, rebuild Sloan valves, and install hot water tanks.
• Provide carpentry services, including installing keypad trays, hanging pictures and banners, and adjusting door closures.
• Safely move furniture, equipment, desks, cabinets, and boxes without damaging facilities or property.
• Clean offices, elevators, MAC machines, grounds, and parking lots according to established schedules.
• Support assigned maintenance projects and manage risks and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.
• General knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, machinery service, electrical repairs, basic HVAC, and basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to use voltage and continuity testers and read blueprints.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Heavy lifting over 45 lbs., frequent standing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, climbing, and driving are required.
