Staff Engineer Implant (Semiconductor)

Location: Newport, UK, United Kingdom; onsite role in Mfg. Equipment Engineering

What you will do

• Drive safety compliance for the Implant area and take ownership of the assigned equipment toolset.
• Publish recovery plans for tools down for more than 24 hours and develop solutions for complex equipment issues.
• Create and review technical procedures for preventive maintenance, tool operation, and OCAPS.
• Monitor and report OEE, availability, and preventive-maintenance KPIs.
• Drive OEE improvement and continuous-improvement projects with IE, Process, Integration, R&D, and vendors.
• Manage scheduled maintenance, lean-manufacturing initiatives, 6S standards, and tool start-up from purchase through release to Tier 2.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in mechanical, electronic, or electrical engineering is preferred.
• Strong semiconductor Implant engineering experience and demonstrated expertise in the Implant area.
• Essential experience with AMAT 9500, XR, Axcelis GSD 200 E2, Axcelis 8250, or Axcelis Purion equipment.
• Familiarity with final-operations semiconductor process equipment and modern manufacturing concepts including JIT, Kaizen, Zero Defects, SPC, TQM, and TPM.
• Experience driving continuous-improvement activities and projects, together with strong leadership, communication, customer-service, and results-oriented skills.
• Detailed understanding of facilities requirements for manufacturing tools; PC, software repair, and recovery skills are advantageous.
