TL;DR
Atlassian Systems Administrator (Kubernetes): Deploying, maintaining, and scaling Atlassian enterprise applications in secure, containerized defense environments with an accent on Kubernetes orchestration, infrastructure automation, and DoD security compliance. Focus on architecting highly available Jira and Confluence platforms, troubleshooting system-level failures, and modernizing workloads within IL5/IL6 environments.
Location: On-site at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, or Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama; remote and telework are not available. Relocation assistance is not available.
Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do
- Architect, deploy, maintain, and scale Atlassian enterprise applications including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Align.
- Operate Atlassian workloads in Docker and Kubernetes environments with high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
- Manage applications across secure DoD IL5 and IL6 environments.
- Automate administration, patching, system checks, and deployments.
- Provide backend support, performance tuning, database integrations, configuration, troubleshooting, and log analysis.
- Coordinate Remedy-based change requests and collaborate with engineering and security teams on mission requirements.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of full-time professional experience.
- At least 3 years of systems administration or DevOps engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience deploying, monitoring, and managing production workloads in Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA Security.
- Active DoW Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain an active DoW Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to work on site in Colorado Springs, Colorado, or Huntsville, Alabama; no remote work or telework is available.
Nice to have
- Active DoD Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
- CKA, CKS, CKAD, or Red Hat container and Kubernetes certification.
- Experience configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting Atlassian Data Center applications hosted on Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure Government, and DoD IL5/IL6 cloud architectures.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Oracle, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
