Actuarial Senior Consultant - Life Product Development Team (Hybrid) (Life Insurance)

Location: Saint Paul, MN Campus; hybrid arrangement with three days per week in the office for associates within a 90-minute commute

Estimated base pay: $111,300–$207,800 per year

What you will do

• Lead life insurance product initiatives from concept through launch, including design, pricing, filings, illustrations, systems, marketing, education, and vendor coordination.
• Recommend interest-sensitive product elements such as indexed account caps, fixed account rates, variable loan rates, and other non-guaranteed elements in partnership with Finance.
• Make decisions on large-case pricing, illustration, policy-size, and other product exception requests.
• Monitor product performance, competitiveness, regulatory developments, and emerging product risks after launch.
• Prepare and sign actuarial opinions for traditional life insurance filings and respond to state insurance department objections.
• Direct pricing associates and actuaries on ad hoc analyses, product research, and implementation while representing Actuarial and Product in governance forums.

Requirements

• FSA designation and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries.
• 10–15+ years of life product development experience, especially with UL, IUL, and VUL products.
• Strong knowledge of life insurance regulation, illustration regulations, state jurisdictions, and filing requirements.
• Experience collaborating with distribution partners, including BGAs, BDs, FIs, and other key channels.
• Strong actuarial judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to synthesize complex analysis for senior leadership.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, direct other associates, and adapt to changing priorities.
