Avionics Harness Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: United States citizenship required; the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.

What you will do

• Design, route, and document electrical harnesses for missile and vehicle system integration.
• Create wiring diagrams, schematics, and harness assembly drawings in accordance with aerospace standards.
• Select wires, connectors, backshells, shielding, and protection materials for environmental and system requirements.
• Collaborate with avionics, power, structures, propulsion, and integration teams on vehicle-level harness design.
• Develop harness bills of materials and improve manufacturability, efficiency, and quality at scale.
• Support harness build, installation, troubleshooting, integration, and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of cable harness design experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability hardware systems.
• Proficiency with CAD/ECAD harness design tools such as CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks Electrical, Capital, RapidHarness, or AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace wiring standards, including IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739, or MIL-SPEC requirements.
• Hands-on experience with harness manufacturing, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting in integration environments.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance are required.
