Associate Actuary - UL Valuation

Location: Hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office at a hub location in Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, Philadelphia, or Denver, USA. Relocation assistance is not provided. Occasional travel of less than 10% may be required.

Salary: $128,000–$165,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus of 15%.

What you will do

• Lead GAAP valuation reporting implementation for Universal Life blocks of business.
• Prepare reports and analytical tools for quarterly GAAP financial results.
• Review model changes, assumptions, methodologies, and coding for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead analytical workstreams and determine priorities and required activities independently.
• Document testing results and communicate technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with model development, accounting, finance, and senior leadership teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field, plus 5 years of relevant experience; alternative education and experience combinations may apply.
• FSA or equivalent professional designation, or ASA/equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with life insurance products and actuarial modeling; AXIS proficiency is strongly preferred.
• Ability to analyze and interpret large data sets and communicate advanced mathematical and analytical concepts.
• Strong judgment, organization, prioritization, integrity, and ability to work autonomously under time constraints.
• Excellent computer, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• GGY AXIS and Power BI experience.
• SQL, VBA, Python, or Alteryx programming experience.
• Prior GAAP LDTI reporting experience.
