TL;DR
Quality Inspection Supervisor - Aerospace (Aerospace Quality Inspection): Leading receiving and final inspection operations for aerospace and defense components and finished goods with an accent on quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and inspector development. Focus on improving quality KPIs, completing FAIRs, managing nonconforming material dispositions, and supporting audits and continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Location: On-site in Lynnwood, Washington, United States. Periodic weekend shop supervisory coverage and up to 10% travel may be required. Access to controlled data may be restricted to US Persons under ITAR requirements.

Salary: $101,817–$138,945 USD annual.

What you will do

  • Lead, train, coach, and mentor inspectors across receiving and final inspection operations.
  • Allocate inspection resources to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and improve quality KPIs through data analysis and daily problem-solving.
  • Oversee First Article Inspection Reports, nonconforming material dispositions, purchase order approvals, and inspection activities for new products.
  • Conduct and support internal and external quality and safety audits.
  • Make staffing decisions and help develop Quality Technicians and inspection teams.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment with quality inspection exposure.
  • At least 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, process improvement and control techniques, manufacturing practices, inventory management, project management, and safety management.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and solve problems collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High School Diploma and eligibility to access controlled data where applicable; only US Persons may be considered for ITAR-restricted work.

Nice to have

  • ISO/AS lead assessor credentials or ASQ certifications such as CQT, CQI, or CQA.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and previous aerospace or electronics manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Experience with AS9100, FAI/AS9102, CMM, Keyence optical systems, FAA Part 21, or 8130-3 documentation.
  • Experience with nonconformance documentation, root-cause analysis, aerospace customer portals, and MIL, ASTM, ASM, or NADCAP standards.
