Segment Producer

Location: New York, United States; onsite at the network's offices

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Pitch story and segment ideas for the weekend morning program.
• Research political, domestic, and international news using online sources, video archives, and other information resources.
• Select story elements and produce scripts, interview segments, and news packages.
• Assist with preparing and executing live television newscasts.
• Collaborate with Executive, Senior, and Line Producers to develop accurate and compelling broadcasts.
• Keep production leadership informed of story developments and assist in the control room when needed.

Requirements

• Experience producing for a national news program or newscasts in a top-10 market.
• Experience covering politics and government, with strong news judgment.
• Ability to make quick decisions, think creatively, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks.
• Effective coaching and mentoring skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Proficiency with ENPS and flexibility to work different shifts.
