TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Instrumentation & Electrical Reliability) (Industrial Manufacturing): Supporting instrumentation and electrical maintenance reliability at a titanium dioxide production facility with an accent on equipment troubleshooting, failure analysis, and reliability improvement. Focus on root cause analysis, process safety, preventive maintenance, capital project support, and electrical systems up to 480V.

Location: New Johnsonville, Tennessee, United States; onsite at the Titanium Technologies facility. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $93,184–$145,600 annually. Annual bonus target: 8%.

A chemistry manufacturing company producing titanium dioxide pigment and slurry for applications including clean energy, advanced electronics, cooling, paints, and coatings.

What you will do

  • Support maintenance and operations with instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting, equipment failure evaluation, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Provide reliability expertise for instruments, analyzers, electrical systems up to 480V, motors, starters, VFDs, control valves, burners, and related equipment.
  • Lead root cause failure analysis teams, kaizen events, problem-solving sessions, and defect-elimination strategies.
  • Support management of change, mechanical integrity, quality assurance, reliability, preventive maintenance, and capital project programs.
  • Prepare and audit work scopes, estimates, schedules, equipment specifications, vendor proposals, and designs.
  • Participate in process hazard analyses and provide shift or weekend coverage for startups, testing, turnarounds, and other non-routine needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a strongly related field.
  • At least 3 years of related industrial or manufacturing experience, including co-op or internship experience, or equivalent military experience.
  • Working knowledge of at least two areas including instrumentation, analyzers, 120–480V electrical systems, wiring, power panels, heat trace, motors, starters, VFDs, or control valves.
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems, make data-based decisions, manage urgent and competing priorities, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with operators, technicians, peers, and leadership.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, eye protection, and respirators.

Nice to have

  • Experience with field troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, process safety management, PFD or LOPA analysis, and industry standards such as NEC and ISA.
  • Experience with PLC systems, power systems analysis, safety instrumented systems, automated equipment, and SAP.
