TL;DR
Facilities Maintenance Technician I/II (Biopharma Manufacturing): Maintaining and repairing site infrastructure, facility systems, process equipment, and utilities in an active biopharmaceutical manufacturing site with an accent on corrective and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation. Focus on diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, investigating failures, and supporting reliable day-to-day operations.

Location: Durham, North Carolina, USA; onsite facilities support with on-call, off-hours coverage as needed.

What you will do

  • Perform and document corrective and preventive maintenance across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and utility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers, refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, purified-water, and domestic-water systems.
  • Operate the computerized maintenance management system to create work orders and maintain accurate records.
  • Support daily operation, maintenance, modification, and reliability of site infrastructure and equipment.
  • Recommend improvements, assist with system failure root-cause investigations, and implement maintenance procedures.
  • Follow SOPs, manufacturer documentation, work plans, and good documentation practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Technician II requires at least two years of experience as a general maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with utility systems, boilers, electrical systems, HVAC, and refrigeration.
  • Ability to use mechanical tools, shop equipment, handheld meters, alignment tools, predictive-maintenance tools, computers, and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and CMMS; Blue Mountain experience is ideal.
  • Ability to climb steps and ladders and lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Prior cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is preferred.

Nice to have

  • A.S./A.A. degree in Mechanical or Utilities Technology or hands-on vocational training.
  • Universal CFC Refrigerant License.
