Software Development Manager (Backend)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; onsite

What you will do

• Set and execute the technical roadmap for associate-facing and manager-facing workforce products.
• Lead 10–15 software engineers building backend services, data transformation layers, and frontend experiences.
• Partner with senior and principal engineers on service migration, data pipelines, architecture, and cross-regional deployment.
• Drive modernization through monolith decomposition, cloud-native migration, and cost-efficient architecture evolution.
• Own operational excellence, including on-call, incident response, data quality SLAs, and security compliance for sensitive employee data.
• Work with product management and stakeholders to translate workforce requirements into engineering plans.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams and working as an engineer.
• Knowledge of software development life-cycle practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
• Experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
• Strong communication skills for working with users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
