Electrical Engineer IV - P&C; Quality Control (Substation Protection & Control)

What you will do

• Serve as an independent Quality Control Engineer for assigned substation Protection and Control design package reviews.
• Review relay one-line diagrams, front views, bills of materials, AC and DC schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and SCADA/communication fiber designs.
• Perform preliminary and detailed design reviews, equipment specification reviews, and engineering calculation checks.
• Provide constructive technical feedback and act as a resource for design teams and other reviewers.
• Assess safety, equipment performance, constructability, interdisciplinary interfaces, and conformance with project requirements.
• Participate in review meetings and support design questions, personnel development, training, and evaluation.

Requirements

• At least eight years of relevant experience in the designated engineering field.
• Experience serving as a project lead on substation Protection and Control design projects.
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program.
• Knowledge of Protection and Control project schedules, timelines, review procedures, and QA/QC practices.
• Proficiency with national and local standards, including ANSI/IEEE, the National Electrical Safety Code, ASTM, and AIC.
• Strong communication, technical, problem-solving, collaboration, record-keeping, and attention-to-detail skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software such as Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
