Automation Controls Specialist (Allen Bradley PLC)

Location: Kansas City, MO, USA; onsite work in a baking or distribution facility

What you will do

• Manage and supervise maintenance activities while providing electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls support.
• Program and support Allen Bradley SLC 500 and Logix 5000 PLCs, PanelView systems, Kinetix servos, VFDs, HMIs, and control networks.
• Review plant KPIs and equipment data, lead teams in developing engineered solutions, and implement cost-saving and continuous-improvement projects.
• Support manufacturing controls networks, including IP addressing, switches, VLAN topology, firmware, software revisions, and device backups.
• Lead predictive-maintenance initiatives involving thermography, ultrasonic leak detection, and vibration analysis.
• Mentor, develop, train, and validate mechanics and automation technicians on electrical troubleshooting and controls systems.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience in automation, or equivalent demonstrated competency through education, training, and experience.
• EE degree or equivalent.
• Strong electrical and industrial controls experience, including PLCs, mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, and controls networks.
• Experience with Rockwell Controls Software, Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems, and related industrial software; AutoCAD is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to understand and follow work and safety instructions.
• Ability to work in an operational baking environment, move through multi-level plant stairways, and comply with machinery, food, and plant safety requirements.
