Staff Software Engineer (Airline Operations)

Location: Remote for the right individual, must be US based; preference for a Utah-based employee near the Cottonwood Heights, Utah headquarters.

hirify.global is an airline operating a technology platform for guest-facing products, backend services, developer tooling, and internal airline systems.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain shared libraries, services, and developer tooling used across engineering teams.
• Develop systems supporting crew, dispatch, maintenance, and day-of-travel operations.
• Investigate ambiguous problems and take them through to working, maintainable solutions.
• Lead technical design for significant projects by evaluating approaches, documenting decisions, and building consensus.
• Define engineering standards, evaluate technologies, and shape technical direction across the development organization.
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, pairing, and documentation.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience architecting production systems serving real customers at scale.
• Experience evaluating technology choices and making durable design decisions.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate degree, professional certifications, or 12+ years of software development experience.
• Distributed systems experience and experience building and operating services on AWS.
• Experience with Ruby, Go, TypeScript, Angular, or React.
