Senior Software Engineer I, Email

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work

Salary: CA$153,815–CA$277,431 per year in base pay for candidates based in Canada. Expected on-target earnings are CA$172,000–CA$308,400 per year, including bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Build and maintain core infrastructure for delivering billions of personalized emails each month.
• Develop highly parallelized systems for email personalization and delivery at large scale.
• Build REST APIs for managing and tracking user subscriptions.
• Develop preference-management web pages and dashboards for configuring customer email domains.
• Deliver new features, improve system performance, and guide architectural decisions.
• Architect critical components and optimize systems for resilience as they scale.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Experience as a technical leader.
• Strong understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Self-directed approach with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Previous experience working in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Professional experience building software at scale.
• Experience with Ruby, Go, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Experience with MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or React.
• Experience with agile processes.
