What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for academic departments, research programs, outreach initiatives, centers, institutes, personnel, and resources.
• Advance student success, academic excellence, applied learning, teaching quality, scholarship, student support, and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen research infrastructure, support externally funded grants and contracts, remove proposal-development barriers, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration in support of the university’s pursuit of R1 status.
• Develop partnerships with industry, agencies, alumni, donors, and other external stakeholders to support curriculum development, graduate career opportunities, research, outreach, and College resources.
• Lead strategic planning, budget management, personnel management, and administrative and curriculum-related decision-making.
• Represent the College internally and externally and promote compliance with TAMUS policies, regulations, and Tarleton procedures.

Requirements

• Earned terminal degree, such as a Ph.D. or equivalent, in a field housed in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
• Record of scholarship or creative activity, teaching, and service supporting appointment as a tenured full professor within the College.
• Demonstrated academic leadership experience in higher education, such as dean, associate dean, department chair or head, or a comparable role.
• Experience managing budgets, personnel, and other resources, with demonstrated fiscal stewardship.
• Evidence of success securing extramural support through grants, contracts, or philanthropic giving and collaborating with alumni, donors, and state agency partners.
• Strong strategic planning, communication, relationship-building, organizational leadership, supervision, and decision-making skills.
