Salary: $150,000–$160,000 per year, based on experience and hiring manager discretion

What you will do
- Provide strategic and visionary leadership for the Killam Library and its team of full-time staff and part-time student workers.
- Direct library operations, user services, facilities, technology, automated systems, interlibrary collaboration, assessment, reporting, marketing, and public relations.
- Manage the annual library budget and oversee the effective use of financial, physical, and human resources.
- Lead the development of library programs, services, collections, policies, and collaborative agreements supporting students and faculty.
- Secure external funding and prepare grant proposals to enhance library programs, facilities, and collections.
- Integrate emerging technologies, including AI, and build partnerships across campus, within the community, and with other institutions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Library Science, or an equivalent degree, from an American Library Association-accredited program.
- Progressive administrative experience in an academic library setting.
- Experience with personnel leadership, strategic planning, assessment, budgeting, library technologies, electronic resources, and automated library systems.
- Knowledge of current developments and challenges in academic librarianship, archives, information technology, scholarly communications, and higher education.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.
- Bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred.
Nice to have
- Eight years of related library experience, including managerial experience.
- Second master’s degree, advanced degree, Ph.D., or equivalent degree in a related field.
- Five years of progressively responsible library administrative experience, such as department head, assistant dean, or associate dean.
- Professional association engagement and library advocacy experience.
- Experience promoting Open Educational Resources and Open Textbooks.
