Area Claims Supervisor (Crop Insurance)

Location: Remote - Ohio, United States; frequent travel is required to support a remote, field-based team.

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 annually, with geographic adjustments where applicable.

What you will do

• Manage, coach, train, and evaluate Crop Insurance Adjusters across Ohio, including performance reviews and succession planning.
• Oversee claims handling for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company procedures, federal and state regulations, and RMA standards.
• Assign claims, review and approve work, assist with reserve setting, and resolve complex, sensitive, or disputed claims.
• Partner with Claims Management, Compliance, Underwriting, and other functions to resolve operational and regulatory issues.
• Manage staffing, workload distribution, adjuster expenses, and claims structure across changing market or territory needs.
• Serve as a point of contact for agent concerns and support effective use of claims systems and internal tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, a related field, or equivalent education and experience preferred.
• Current Claim Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification.
• At least three years of relevant, progressive crop insurance experience in Claims or Compliance.
• Thorough knowledge of adjusting practices, procedures, and required adjusting equipment.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
