Technician (Chemical Process)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site night shift

Salary: $35–$45 per hour, plus shift differential eligibility

What you will do

• Operate and monitor copper extraction chemical processes with engineers and technicians.
• Safely handle chemicals, raw materials, and waste streams according to procedures and regulations.
• Support sampling, quality checks, and basic laboratory measurements.
• Assist with the design, installation, startup, and commissioning of equipment and processes.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic mechanical repairs, documenting actions in the CMMS.
• Maintain procedures, experimental records, shift reports, plant cleanliness, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in chemical technology, process technology, industrial operations, or a related field.
• Experience operating pilot-plant or commercial-scale industrial equipment in minerals processing, chemicals, specialty materials, oil and gas, biotech, or a similar industry.
• Experience with plant safety processes including Lockout/Tagout, hot-work permitting, confined-space entry, and safe-work permitting systems.
• Experience using HMIs and plant software systems to monitor, control, and adjust processes.
• Hands-on experience with equipment installation, modification, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work on-site night shifts from 6:00pm to 6:00am and safely lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of inorganic chemistry, pH, and reaction stoichiometry.
• Experience using PFDs, control narratives, or P&IDs.
