What you will do

  • Analyze and interpret multi-omic datasets from pediatric brain tumors, including single-cell, spatial, liquid biopsy, sequencing, transcriptomic, and epigenetic profiles.
  • Design, develop, improve, and operate bioinformatics analysis pipelines and computational methods.
  • Perform statistical analysis, data visualization, algorithm implementation, mathematical modeling, and quality checks.
  • Develop and maintain databases, programs, protocols, and best practices for research data analysis.
  • Document analytical processes, deliver data files, support manuscripts, and contribute to new-method evaluation.
  • Collaborate with investigators, bioinformatics personnel, departments, and external research partners; coordinate projects and provide analytical guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, statistics, computer science with a biological or chemistry background, or a related field.
  • Relevant post-degree experience: 6+ years for the Bioinformatics Research Scientist level or 7+ years for the Senior level with a bachelor’s degree; fewer years may apply with a master’s degree or PhD.
  • Experience with at least one programming or scripting language and one statistical package, with R preferred.
  • For the Senior level, experience with single-cell/nucleus RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq/CUT&RUN, and DNA methylation.
  • Experience analyzing high-throughput human genomics data from short- and long-read sequencing platforms, including Illumina, PacBio, and Oxford Nanopore.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, independent execution, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Python, high-performance computing, Nextflow or Snakemake, Git, data integration, and data harmonization.
  • Publications involving cancer genomics, epigenomics, single-cell or spatial omics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
