Senior QA / Test Automation Engineer

Location: Hybrid working from the Budapest, Hungary office

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test coverage for web applications, APIs, integrations, mobile workflows, and internal business platforms.
• Perform manual, exploratory, functional, regression, integration, API, and release validation testing.
• Build test automation frameworks, reusable utilities, test scripts, test data approaches, and regression suites.
• Partner with engineers, Product and Delivery Managers, architects, DevOps, DBA, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to identify risks and improve release confidence.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, analyze failures and flaky tests, and distinguish product defects from test or environment issues.
• Support UAT and release readiness, document and track defects, communicate quality risks, and mentor junior QA engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software quality assurance experience combining manual testing and test automation.
• Experience building or extending automation frameworks with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or equivalent tools.
• Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, API, exploratory, smoke, performance, and release validation testing.
• Ability to read and write at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Python, or Java.
• Experience with API testing, CI/CD integration, SQL-based data validation, defect analysis, and test planning.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, ownership, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience testing .NET and SQL Server enterprise applications or internal platforms supporting sales, purchasing, warehouse, finance, operations, or customer service.
• Mobile automation experience with Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or similar tools.
• Experience with performance and load testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing, security testing, vulnerability validation, test data management, and environment validation.
• Experience in technology distribution, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, e-commerce, or similar B2B environments, including AI-assisted testing.
