Counsel - Corporate Litigation and Legal Shared Services

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Salary: $126,500–$208,700 annually, plus performance-based cash incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Provide cost-effective legal counsel on moderately complex matters within the relevant practice area.
• Research legal principles, precedents, judicial developments, and the external legal climate.
• Draft, negotiate, and execute legal documents and negotiate matters with clients and management.
• Identify and communicate legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Build and maintain internal and external client relationships while using technology and automation in legal practice.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 3 years of experience practicing law.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in commercial bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, or commercial financial litigation preferred for the ideal candidate.
• Experience managing creditor-rights matters in commercial bankruptcies, including filing claims and motions and negotiating substantial commercial financial obligations and collateral.
