Registered Nurse, RN- Full Time Day Shift-Acute Care Transition Team (Acute Care)

Location: Lowell General, Main Campus—Emergency Room, Lowell, Massachusetts. Onsite day shift, 32 hours per week from 7:00–3:30, with weekend and holiday commitment.

Pay range: $37.50–$68.47 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide acute inpatient nursing care, primarily in the Emergency Department, for patients awaiting inpatient beds.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Apply professional nursing judgment and evidence-based practice to changing patient needs.
• Coordinate patient assignments, delegate appropriately, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and develop discharge plans with appropriate referrals.
• Support performance improvement, participate in committees, and precept and develop department staff.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Relevant department-specific certification may be required.
• RN experience must meet the applicable Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway level: Level I requires less than 12 months; Level II requires 12 months to less than 3 years; Level III requires 3 to less than 8 years; Level IV requires 8 years.
• Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team, plus knowledge of the nursing process.
• Ability to lift and maneuver patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and work around infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and potentially carcinogenic chemicals.
