Senior PHP Application Engineer (PHP)

What you will do

• Maintain, stabilize, improve, and modernize existing PHP applications, backend services, and business-critical integrations.
• Diagnose production defects, performance issues, data inconsistencies, integration failures, and operational risks.
• Develop safe, maintainable features and enhancements without disrupting business operations.
• Build and maintain integrations with internal systems, third-party platforms, APIs, ERP systems, and data stores.
• Collaborate with Product and Delivery Managers, architects, QA, DevOps, DBA, Infrastructure, Security, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, L3 escalation, root cause analysis, technical-debt remediation, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional PHP experience and 3+ years with Symfony.
• Strong knowledge of modern PHP 8.x, Symfony 6.x LTS, Dependency Injection, Security, Workflow, and Messenger.
• Production experience with RabbitMQ/AMQP, message-driven architectures, Doctrine ORM, PostgreSQL, query optimization, migrations, and large-dataset processing.
• Experience designing REST APIs with OpenAPI documentation, integrating third-party APIs, and implementing retries and rate limiting.
• Frontend experience with Vue 2 or 3, Twig, and TypeScript; authentication experience with JWT and SAML/SSO.
• Testing and delivery experience with PHPUnit, Behat, PHPStan, CI quality gates, and Docker-first development workflows.

Nice to have

• WireMock, OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, Mercure, Kubernetes, GitLab CI, AWS S3, Datadog, Sentry, or Blackfire.
• ERP integrations, SFTP file exchange, report generation, multi-tenant SaaS architecture, or data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Experience with PIM, e-commerce, catalog, supply-chain systems, web scraping, or EasyAdmin.
