Junior Backend Engineer T Cloud Public (OpenStack)

Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, or Szeged, Hungary. Remote work is available only from within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do

• Develop and enhance the Open Telekom Cloud public cloud platform.
• Solve complex problems in the daily operation of a hyper-scale cloud backend.
• Work with hardware-oriented infrastructure and perform console-level troubleshooting.
• Develop and operate monitoring and quality assurance solutions.
• Automate infrastructure using common automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with platform and OpenStack ecosystem partners in a specialist team.

Requirements

• Completed studies in a technical, engineering, or scientific subject, or comparable professional training.
• At least one year of IT experience focused on modern cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of software-defined networks, routing, firewalls, and physical networks.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation, Linux, and network-related services.
• Understanding of agile development processes, customer focus, and creative technical problem-solving.
• Fluent written and spoken English; the role must be performed within the European Union, with remote work limited to Hungary.

Nice to have

• OpenStack experience.
• Programming experience in open-source projects.
