Associate Underwriting Officer (Financial Lines)

Location: London, UK; hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office and two days at home.

What you will do

• Manage and optimize a delegated authority portfolio across Management Liability, Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber.
• Act as a senior referral point for complex or high-value risks and support underwriting and product development strategies.
• Monitor production metrics, loss ratios, claims trends, pricing, and portfolio performance, recommending corrective actions.
• Conduct underwriting audits, support due diligence for new delegated authority partnerships, and provide technical training to partners.
• Build relationships with DUA partners, brokers, and stakeholders across Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Finance, Compliance, and Operations.
• Ensure delegated arrangements comply with Lloyd’s requirements and internal risk management frameworks, including policy wording reviews and governance documentation.

Requirements

• Relevant underwriting experience in Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Financial Institutions, and/or Transactional Liability.
• Experience handling complex risks as an underwriter or referral point for underwriters.
• Experience managing delegated authority relationships or working with MGAs or TPAs.
• Technical knowledge of D&O, PI, Cyber, and FI, including coverage analysis, risk assessment, and pricing.
• Familiarity with Lloyd’s delegated authority frameworks, strong analytical and decision-making skills, and effective negotiation and relationship management abilities.
• ACII qualification.
