Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room - Ambulatory Surgery Center - Part Time

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire, United States. Onsite part-time role, 20 hours per week across two 10-hour shifts, with a Tuesday/Wednesday and Wednesday/Friday rotation from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Assess patients from six months through geriatric age and implement priority-based nursing care for surgical and invasive procedures.
• Deliver patient-centered care under general, regional, and local anesthesia while engaging patients and families.
• Circulate general and specialty operating room cases and function across all areas of the unit.
• Prepare, operate, and safely handle surgical equipment, including surgical microscopes, lighting systems, electrosurgical units, and specialty surgery tables.
• Collaborate with nurses and other disciplines to support quality outcomes, patient education, and safety.
• Apply evidence-based practice, informatics, standardized procedures, and process improvement to reduce risk and adverse events; float to other units as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing.
• Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse licensure required.
• Knowledge of professional nursing practice and ability to work within the scope of practice.
• Ability to achieve unit-specific competencies within the required timelines.
• BLS certification within 30 days, as applicable.
• Competency in aseptic technique, scrubbing, gowning and gloving, surgical instrument decontamination, OR setup, and circulating cases within the specified training timelines.

Nice to have

• At least one year of nursing experience.
• Experience circulating ENT, plastics, ophthalmology, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, gynecological, or genitourinary cases.
